The British and Irish Lions continued their winning start to their tour of Australia as they followed up the thrashing of Western Force with a 52-12 victory over the Queensland Reds on Wednesday. The hosts took an early lead before Tommy Freeman levelled for the Lions.
While Queensland restored their lead via Josh Flook, tries from Andrew Porter and Duhan van der Merwe then put Andy Farrell's side ahead at the break. And captain fantastic Maro Itoje all but ended the match as a contest early into the second half by stretching over the line. Jac Morgan, Freeman, Huw Jones and Garry Ringrose added further gloss to the scoreline in a dominant second half as the Lions made it two wins from two at Suncorp Stadium.
Express Sport takes a close look at how each Lions player fared in Brisbane...
15 Elliot Daly – The ultimate Swiss army knife player and showing Test form before exit on 67 minutes with arm injury 8
14 Tommy Freeman – The form winger in the party and was at it again coming off his wing for work and scoring twice 8
13 Huw Jones – Not match fit after recent injury and it showed with some mistimed passes but shook it off for second-half stunner 6
12 Bundee Aki – Giving boss Andy Farrell a bit of a selection headache at inside centre with another powerful display of carrying 7
11 Duhan van der Merwe – Another who has had a long time off. Rusty against Argentina, same again here barring neat first half try 5
10 Finn Russell – Taken off after 50 minutes but not before virtually sealing his Test spot with a virtuoso display of passing and kicking. Can tackle too 8
9 Jamison Gibson-Park – First outing since 7 June and another who showed a bit of ring rust. But nice flat pass for Itoje’s score before being taken off 5
1 Andrew Porter – Missed a tackle in lead-up to the Reds opening try but scrum went well before being replaced on 50 minutes 6
2 Ronan Kelleher – Led the charge to make Lions second score for Porter and in scrap with Cowan-Dickie for bench spot in Tests 6
3 Will Stuart – First start of the trip and looked good at set-piece plus did his bit around the park in promising show 7
4 Maro Itoje (capt) – First game on Aussie soil and a complete pest to the Reds all night. Superb night capped by a try 9
5 Ollie Chessum – Couple of decent carries and good in line out but might have more chance of Test spot at blindside flanker 7
6 Tom Curry – Poor start and a really quiet night for the England flanker who was not his normal energetic self 6
7 Jac Morgan – Reminded everyone there is still a Welshman on tour with first half turnover and banging line for his score 8
8 Jack Conan – Likely starter for first Test before the tour started and doing enough to keep Henry Pollock mania at bay 7
