Six people are reported to have been killed after police in Nairobi opened fire on protesters.

At least four people were fatally shot in the Ngong area and another two killed in the Kangemi area.

More gunfire has been heard in the Githurai and Kiambu areas of the capital, as tensions remain high.

Looting and fires have also broken out as the violence shows no sign of abating.
