Dogs truly are man's best friend, and you can often tell just how much your pooch loves you by its behaviour towards you as it's owner.

Dogs express love through various behaviors, including excited greetings, physical affection like leaning or licking, seeking proximity, and bringing you toys. They might also show love by maintaining eye contact, wagging their tails, and even subtly mirroring your actions like yawning.

However, there are also other things your pet may do that you might not be aware are because of how much they love and want to be around you, such as by wanting to sleep with you next to them

Taking to TikTok, one creator went on to share what it might mean if your dog insists on sleeping in the same bed as you, and it's cuter than you might think.

"Dogs love sleeping in their owners bed for these three reasons," a voice is heard saying before it jumped into the list of reasons.

1. It makes them feel secure

“First of all, you need to understand that for a dog, you are much more than just an owner. You are their anchor, their family, their entire world," the voice explained.

Because of this, they often feel secure when they're around you and want to be close to you when they're at their most vulnorable state, which include sleeping at night.

The voice explained: "Sleeping close to you gives them a deep sense of security and strengthens the emotional bond they feel.

“It’s their way of saying 'I love you and I feel safe with you,'" they added.

2. It helps keep them warm

“Secondly, dogs love warmth," the video continued.

And just like with humans, dogs love to snuggle up in a comfy and cosy bed in order to stay warm during the colder days. And it becomes even better when they can feel your body heat next to them.

"Your presence turns the bed into the perfect cocoon for a restful night. To them, you’re like a living blanket - warming and reassuring at the same time," they explained.

3. They want to protect you

“The third reason goes a bit deeper. [...]," the video said before it went on to reveal the third reason.

"Finally, all dogs have a built in pack protection instinct. Even when they sleep deeply, they remain alert," they said.

They went on to explain: "By sharing your bed, they feel like they’re guarding you just as much as you’re caring for them. This protective role is deeply rooted in their nature. And it’s yet another way your bond grows stronger."

They went on to write in the caption of the video: "Your dog isn’t just your pet — they see you as family and their whole world.Sleeping next to you gives them security, warmth, and a chance to protect their pack."

People soon took to the comments to share their thoughts, with many being all for letting their dog sleeping in bed with them.

"Dogs love sleeping in their owners bed for these three reasons," one person wrote, while another shared: "I end up on the edge of the bed while my dog is stretched out."

"I don’t know how anyone could reject a dog sleeping on the bed with them," a third person shared.

However, another viewer argued: "Never let your dog sleep in your bed at night."
