Amazon slashes £100 off top-rated Shark vacuum

Amazon has slashed £100 off a top-selling Shark vacuum cleaner in a fresh deal that undercuts the cleaning brand’s own price by £70. The Shark Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner with Anti Hair Wrap has seen its price drop from £279.99 to a mere £179 – a discount of 36%.

This latest offer is even cheaper than on Shark’s website, where it remains at £249.99.

The vacuum cleaner is perfect for pet-friendly homes as it has Shark's signature Anti Hair Wrap Technology – a brush roll that is designed to separate and remove hair during cleaning. This ensures both long and short hair are directly sucked up into the dust cup, avoiding any tangles.

The vacuum has two floor modes for tackling carpet and hard floors, equipped with bright LED headlights in the floorhead that help to illuminate hidden dirt. It can operate for up to 40 minutes, with a battery light indicator showing how much charge remains, while its flexible wand allows for easier cleaning underneath furniture.

Along with the vacuum, customers will receive a crevice tool, multi-surface tool and pet tool, which combine with the vacuum in handheld mode for thorough cleaning of sofas, stairs or car interiors. The Shark Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner with Anti Hair Wrap has garnered a 4.5-star rating from more than 5,000 Amazon reviews – 91% of which are four or five stars, reports Devon Live.

The Dyson V11 Advanced, priced a bit steeper at £349.99, is more expensive; however, it is currently discounted by £80 at the time of writing. For the budget-conscious, the 4.4-star reviewed HF4 Cordless Vacuum offers a compelling deal marked down from £249 to £169, featuring hair wrap prevention and a tool for pet owners.

On the matter, delighted Amazon users have been singing praises about the Shark model, highlighting its user-friendly design and potent suction capability. A particularly satisfied customer remarked: "Very impressed. Most of my home is carpeted and previous cordless models have been pretty useless."

They also noted the practicality of the vacuum, reflecting: "I find this to be very good suction, easy to manoeuvre and I like how it will automatically change to hard floors in kitchen and bathroom. It lasted 45 minutes on a full charge and not too heavy for me at 76 – can carry upstairs easily."

Others who transitioned from a Dyson to the Shark model noticed significant improvements, as one shopper commented, "Bought this to replace a Dyson cordless. My daughter has long hair and we were forever cutting this off the Dyson brush roller but so far we haven't had any hair stuck on the Shark roller. On hard floors it picks up the larger items that the Dyson wouldn't."

Despite the accolades, a small drawback was mentioned by an individual saying, "The only slight negative compared to the Dyson is it doesn't quite clean as close to the edge as the Dyson but I find the tools much easier to remove and fit."

However, a glowing five-star review stated: "Easy to use with plenty of suction power to remove dog and cat hairs off carpets. An excellent vacuum. It is well balanced, has excellent suction and certainly picks up the dirt and dog hair well. My first thought was it seemed heavy, but so well balanced and easy to use, you really don't. It got dog hair out of my carpet I didn't even realise was there. A really good vacuum."
