Nico Rosberg slams Bukayo Saka after awkward moment at Spanish Grand Prix | F1 | Sport

Nico Rosberg sensationally accused Arsenal star Bukayo Saka of being unfriendly live on television ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix The England winger snubbed an interview with Sky Sports during the grid walk, prompting criticism from the former Formula One world champion.

Saka and his Three Lions colleague were invited to Sunday's race and took part in the grid walk. Sky Sports' infamous segment before each race usually sees Martin Brundle quiz A-list celebrities. But with Brundle absent from the broadcaster's coverage of the Spanish Grand Prix, Simon Lazenby was on duty to speak with stars on the track. England's players were present, with Harry Kane and Dan Burn willing to talk. But when Rosberg and Lazenby approached Saka, the 24-year-old flicked his hand in the air and blunty said: "I've got nothing to say."

As the Sky Sports duo turned away from Saka, Rosberg said: "That was not very friendly."

Saka did not seem to hear the German. Meanwhile, England captain Kane was much happier to speak and revealed that he was rooting for English drivers Lando Norris, George Russell and Lewis Hamilton.

"I’m looking forward to the race. This is the first grand prix I’ve been to. I’m looking forward to it. I watch the F1 as much as I can. A few of the English guys doing well this season, so I’m looking forward to seeing them.

"I love Lando. He’s been doing great this year and obviously has a great chance of winning the championship. So, I hope he’s going to get himself in front today. Then, of course, George and Lewis [Hamilton] as well – it would be good to see them all on the podium."

Newcastle defender Burn remarked: "It's very hot! I'm excited, it's the first time I've been to an F1 race. I'm hoping for a McLaren one-two and I'm supporting Lando."

England boss Thomas Tuchel treated his stars to a day out at the Spanish Grand Prix ahead of their World Cup qualifier against Andorra. That match is taking place in Barcelona on June 7. Most of the squad were spotted at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, apart from Trent Alexander-Arnold, Declan Rice, Ezri Konsa and Anthony Gordon. The quartet are understood to be linking up with their team-mates later in the day.

John Stones, who was not included in the latest England squad, was also on the guest list. The Manchester City defender is still recovering from a thigh injury.
