One of my favourite games of 2025 is getting new story DLC next week | Gaming | Entertainment

Atomfall is one of my favourite releases of the year so far. It features an intriguing story, a fantastic English countryside setting, and a memorable cast of characters. The real highlight, however, is the exploration element, which feels far more organic than other semi-open-world releases. Players receive snippets of information by talking to characters or by finding clues and leads within the game world. With players free to act on these leads however they see fit, the result is an adventure that feels unique and personal.

The only downside is the 10-20-hour run time, which left me wanting more. Fortunately, Atomfall developer Rebellion has announced a release date for the game's story DLC, Wicked Isle.

Wicked Isle contains a brand new location to explore, as well as new leads, enemies, and items. It will be released on June 3 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Needless to say, Wicked Isle also contains new story elements, including multiple new endings for the main game.

The Wicked Isle story expansion is available for owners of the Atomfall Deluxe Edition, which costs £64.99 on Steam, or £74.99 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

If you already own the base game, you can purchase the Deluxe Edition upgrade for £20. The Deluxe Edition upgrade also contains a couple of bundles featuring additional in-game survival items.

In addition to announcing the Wicked Isle release date, Rebellion has also unveiled a new gameplay trailer showcasing some of the points of interest, new enemies and more.

You can watch the Atomfall Wicked Isle DLC trailer below.

Inspired by folk horror movies and stories, Wicked Isle transports players to an island called Midsummer. Players can reach the island by talking to the boat-keeper in Wyndham Village.

The island is said to feature higher levels of infection, which has resulted in new enemies such as pirate bandits and infected druids.

New items include the Blunderbuss shotgun, a new bow, cutlass, daggers and the Beekeeper’s Staff.

Players will also be able to unlock new skills and an upgraded metal detector for finding hidden items.
