Greggs may be best known for its sausage rolls but a new menu item launched this year is proving particularly popular.

The retailer launched its new Mac and Cheese dish earlier this year which helped to boost its sales after going “viral on TikTok”, accelerating the brand’s growth after a slow start to the year. The dish, which comprises pasta smothered in a creamy cheese sauce, topped with Cheddar and Red Leicester cheese, has helped the brand achieve stronger sales, rising by 7.4% of £784 million for the first 20 weeks of 2025.

The Mac and Cheese dish was first trialled in 10 stores in Greater Manchester in November 2024, followed by a rollout to 300 UK locations earlier this year. Thanks to its popularity, Greggs now plans to launch the menu item in all shops that have Hot To Go units by the end of July this year. But if you can’t wait until then, Greggs has confirmed a full list of all 300 UK stores where it is currently available for £4.55.

Greggs said: “You’ve seen the buzz on TikTok, and you just can’t resist trying it for yourself. It’s true our Mac & Cheese is a thing of absolute beauty, but what’s the secret that has the UK’s mouth watering?

“This isn’t what you’re used to: our Mac & Cheese is delicious pasta smothered in a rich, creamy cheese sauce, topped with a blend of Cheddar and Red Leicester cheese. And just when you think it can’t get any better, we add a crunchy layer of ciabatta breadcrumbs and a sprinkle of parsley.

“Baked fresh in shop every day, this warm box of gooey, crispy and oh-so-tasty comfort food is available in 300 selected shops from £4.55 and is entirely worth the visit alone. But – if you want to make a meal of it – grab a Mac & Cheese and any drink from just £5.75.”
