First picture of woman found dead inside property as man charged | UK | News




A man has been charged with the alleged murder of a 48-year-old woman found inside a property earlier this month.Police officers in Souh Wales were called just after 9.15pm on Friday, April 18, with a report of concern for the welfare of two people in a property on Bryn Terrace in the village just outside Bridgend.

Upon arrival, they discovered the body of Tracey Davies (formerly Young). She was pronounced dead at the scene and her next of kin has been informed. Michael Davies, 55, from Cefn Cribwr, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of Tracey's murder. 

On Sunday April 27 police issued an update on the case, publising a statement on their website along with an image of Tracey.  In the updates statement police said: "On Sunday, April 27, he was charged with murder, and will appear at Cardiff Magistrates Court later today (Monday April 28)."

Detective Inspector Claire Lamerton, from the Major Crime Investigation Team, said: "This has been an incredibly distressing incident for the community in Cefn Cribwr. Our thoughts remain with Tracey’s family and friends. We are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.”
