Michael Schumacher's son spotted on dating app despite model girlfriend 'meeting father' | F1 | Sport

Mick Schumacher appears to have split from his model girlfriend, Laila Hasanovic, after he was spotted on the celebrity dating app Raya. The former Haas F1 racer also deleted an array of their pictures together from his Instagram account. The 26-year-old’s Raya profile was shared across social media, suggesting that his relationship with Hasanovic, which was announced in August 2023, is over.

The pair had previously been subject to speculation about an engagement after the model showcased a ring on her Instagram account last year. This will come as sad news to the family, with Hasanovic having been the only girlfriend of the German racer to have visited Michael Schumacher, according to a report from German newspaper BILD. She was spotted with his wife, Corinna, as recently as March, attending the WEC season opener in Qatar to support her boyfriend.

The apparent personal changes have not affected Schumacher Jnr’s performances on the racetrack, though. On Sunday, he scored a podium for the Alpine World Endurance Championship team at the 6 Hours of Imola, climbing onto the rostrum with team-mates Jules Gounon and Frederic Makowiecki.

After scoring his second career WEC podium, the German racer said: "It was a great race, and I'm really happy with the end result. The most important thing is to bring back good results, and our strategy was key today, with a little help from a few incidents out front.

“We managed to pull off something we didn't believe quite possible at the start, and we can be proud of our progress so far. Let's keep working hard to build on this momentum at Spa and Le Mans."

While Schumacher Jnr is thriving in endurance racing, the 26-year-old has made it no secret that his long-term ambition is to secure a return to the F1 grid. He spent two seasons with Haas - the first of which was with the wildly uncompetitive VF-21 - but was dropped by Guenther Steiner to make room for Nico Hulkenberg.

The German racer has been fighting for a return ever since but has been overlooked for vacancies at Williams, Sauber and, most recently, Alpine, who signed Jack Doohan instead.

"As I have already said in various interviews, I have the feeling that I also have what it takes for Formula One," he told Speedweek earlier this year. "We have to see what happens, the year is still long, and the goal is to return in 2026. We still have to see exactly what happens."
