It begins with the release of roguelike deckbuilding game Monster Train, which returns to Game Pass after a previous absence.

Monster Train will be followed by Galacticare on March 5, followed by One Lonely Outpost on March 6.

The releases continue with the admittedly excellent Enter The Gungeon on March 11, and a genuine hidden gem in the form of Mullet Madjack on March 13.

The speedrunning shooter sees players whizz through stages shooting everything in sight, all the while earning weapon upgrades and time extensions.

"Mullet Madjack is a high-octane-action shooter that puts you directly inside a classic anime," reads the official description. "Pick your favourite weapon and reach the last floor to beat your best time or try again. Haste makes waste… of your enemies!"

The first wave of Xbox Game Pass titles come to an end with the day-one preview release of 33 Immortals on March 18.

As you can see from the gameplay trailer below, 33 Immortals looks a bit like Hades, only with support for 33 players in online multiplayer.

It could end up being one of this year's surprise new gems, but we'll have to wait and see.

"33 Immortals is a co-op action-roguelike for 33 players," reads the official description.

"Play as a damned soul, and rebel against God’s final judgment. Dive straight into epic, 33-player co-op battles with instant “pick-up and raid” matchmaking.

"Cooperate with your allies to survive against hordes of monsters and massive, challenging bosses. Expand your arsenal and equip powerful new relics to permanently upgrade your soul."

As you can see from the list above, the March Game Pass releases aren't terrible, they're just not as high profile as the games in the PS Plus line-up, which is why we're giving the victory to Sony.

Still, there are a few hidden gems that are worth checking out, and one new game that could be a surprise hit for 2025.
