Vanilla Fatale first launched in 2017, but last year Tom Ford re-released a new, updated version of the fragrance for 2024 and experts say it might just be the IT perfume of 2025.

Fashion and beauty brand The Gloss revealed the scent scored highly as one of the "favourite vanilla fragrances" in a public survey.

In a video posted to their 192.7 K followers, members of The Gloss asked members of the public what their favourite vanilla fragrance was and Tom Ford was named as one of the top contenders. When asked, one of the girls said “It’s like a day perfume [that’s] also for nights”.

But with a whopping £290 price tag you'll have to save up if you want to include this perfume in your everyday rotation. The good news is, if the idea of splurging close to £300 on your new signature scent makes your eyes water, there is a more purse-friendly alternative.

Beauty gurus at Beauty Pie have released their latest limited edition scents, and claim one holds "the same top notes as Tom Ford’s Vanille Fatale". According to the brand: "Beauty Pie’s Vanilla Nue has top notes of vanilla, bergamot, and rum absolute, as well as heliotrope and jasmine, this fragrance is clean, naked, and sophisticated."

However, it's a slither of the price of Tom Ford's vanilla scent - on sale from Beauty Pie for just £28 a bottle. But, there is a catch. You must sign up to be a Beauty Pie member in order to snap up this affordable IT-girl scent for £28. 

The perfume is £60 full-price,  but right now you can get a free 30-day Beauty Pie membership (just remember to cancel it once the 30 days is up if you don't want a long-term membership) and enjoy the scent for the member's price of £28.

Customers who have tried the perfume have complimented the sweet notes of the perfume, with one review on the website stating: "This perfume is rich and warm. It is vanilla-ey and chocolatey, and just thoroughly gorgeous! My new go-to!” [SIC]

Another added: " I adore this fragrance, it is simple and yet striking. Love the simplicity of the Ambery Vanilla scent, it's my new go-to, and the scent lasts for ages on my skin and hair!” [SIC]

Perhaps the only drawback is that if you have your heart set on Tom Ford's Vanille Fatale, the two perfumes are not identical. Some shoppers have also said it does not have the same long-lasting staying power.

One shopper said: "Lovely fragrance but no staying power."
