Paris Fury opens up after Tyson admits they haven't spoke for 3 months | Boxing | Sport

Tyson Fury’s wife, Paris, has admitted that “it’s been very difficult” not speaking with her husband as he prepares to fight Oleksandr Usyk.

The Gypsy King surprisingly claimed that he had cut himself off from his wife and their family for three months, such is his determination to get revenge on Usyk in their rematch.

The 36-year-old boxer has taken drastic measures to get himself mentally prepared to take on the Ukrainian for a second time, having lost to Usyk in May on a split-decision points call.

Usyk became the sport’s first four-belt undisputed heavyweight champion in Riyadh and the pair will go head-to-head again in Saudi Arabia on Saturday evening.

Paris Fury confirmed her husband’s claim that they had not spoken for three months after jetting into the Middle East.

Speaking to IFL TV Boxing, she said: "Yeah it is true. I think after the last fight, everything that went on previously personally in our lives and then Tyson obviously had the outcome last time, I just think he decided this on his own and I had to support him in it.

"He didn't want to be involved in family life so he's cut himself off from us for the last few months and he has put himself in a serious, serious condition and he looks very, very determined.

"So if it's what needed to be, then God willing tomorrow night it will all come out and it will all be good and all worthwhile."

While Fury has been undergoing rigorous training in order to be in the best possible shape to avenge his defeat from earlier this year, his wife Paris has opened up on the difficulties of keeping their household in order by herself.

They have seven children together, three daughters and four sons, all given the first name Prince.

But Paris has emotionally shared the toll being kept apart from her husband has taken on her.

"It's been very difficult I can't lie,” she admitted. "I supported him in the decision but it wasn't the greatest thing to sit and not speak to your husband for a long time.

"Yesterday was the first time I saw him, we still haven't spoken, I literally was 10 feet across from him and we've just barely made eye contact. But I can see and I think in my heart it's paid off.

"I haven't seen him like this since the Deontay Wilder rematch, this was the last time I've seen Tyson in this mood so I can't give you much inside scoop because we haven't spoken for weeks and weeks and weeks."
