Golden Globes 2025 victory for British film stars nominated for huge prizes | Films | Entertainment
The first big awards season show is always the Golden Globes in early January, which gives film fans the first proper indication of who is likely to be up for the Oscars on March 3. For 2025, French musical crime comedy Emilia Pérez leads the way with 10 Golden Globe nominations, including Best Musical or Comedy, Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress. Meanwhile, Adrian Brody’s post-World War 2 epic The Brutalist has seven nominations, followed by Ralph Fiennes’ Papal thriller Conclave on six. Talking of the latter actor, several big British stars have received nods from Daniel Craig for Queer and Felicity Jones for The Brutalist to Kate Winslet for Lee and Cynthia Erivo for Wicked. Additionally and rather amusingly, Hugh Grant has been nominated for horror indie Heretic in the Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy category.
