Dogs are adorable with their own little personalities and quirks, and one woman's footage of her four-legged friend's sassy display has made the internet crease with laughter.

One cantankerous English Bulldog named Buddy was utterly disgruntled by his owner's refusal to feed him, and she captured his huffy response. The resulting TikTok snippet amassed a staggering 4.1 million likes, as people gushed over what they called the "cutest tantrum" ever witnessed.

As narrated in the clip by Buddy's owner, the pup was denied his evening meal on account of being "bad" – eliciting from him a solitary bark followed by a paw-stamp on the ground in sheer defiance.

Even after a repeat declaration that no dinner would be served, Buddy's exasperation remained identical, characterised by another bark and foot stomp, complete with an irate glare.

"You was bad," his human emphasised, only to be met with another foot stamp and bark from Buddy before he strutted off.

TikTok users showed nothing but love for the lovable Bulldog, coming to his defence in the comments.

Someone declared" "Aww he's putting his foot down," while another shared insights: "The English Bulldog talk back and snark is so real."

A dog aficionado commented on the breed’s reputation for being food enthusiasts: "Bulldogs don't mess around when it comes to food," and another cheekily added: "That baby better not miss a dinner!".

Many implored the owner to cave in, with one beseeching: "Awww, give that baby dinner. Although, he looks like he hasn't missed a meal," accompanied by a crying with laughter emoji.

A Bulldog enthusiast shared: "Bulldogs are bossy and stubborn. Mine goes to the pantry and just looks back at me like, 'Girl, you know what time it is'."

Another chimed in with a humorous take: "He is saying, 'You can call me anything, but don't call me late for dinner'."

According to the PDSA, Bulldogs are known for their loving and mild-mannered temperament. They require grooming once a week, but special attention must be given daily to clean their distinctive facial folds.

An hour of exercise per day should suffice for these spirited canines.

However, the PDSA cautions that Bulldogs suffer from severe brachycephalic (flat-faced) traits. They highlight that Bulldogs are prone to significant health and welfare problems due to their structure, such as extreme breathing difficulties, skin issues, joint pain, and dental complications.

Given the potential distress caused by breeding for extreme physical traits over health and functionality, the PDSA strongly advises prospective owners to opt for a healthier breed, crossbreed, or mongrel instead.
