Martin Brundle baffled by 'really odd' Las Vegas GP grid walk as 'no celebs' show up | F1 | Sport

Martin Brundle was left baffled by one of the most uneventful grid walks of the season at the Las Vegas Grand Prix. At F1's most flashy event, the Sky Sports F1 pundit was unable to find guests to interview.

Just like its sister events in Miami and Austin, the Las Vegas grid walk was one of the most hotly anticipated of the season and even received a special lead-in from Bruce Buffer, the voice of the UFC.

Unfortunately, Brundle was left scouring around for famous faces to chat to. He first spoke to Pirelli chief Mario Isola about the tyres for the weekend before digging his way through the crowds towards the front of the grid.

After making it to the front, Brundle failed to find a driver or an A-list celebrity to converse with, leaving him flummoxed. "It's going to be almost impossible to find someone here tonight to have a chat with," he exclaimed.

"Right, okey dokey. We actually can't see anybody at the moment so what are we going to do? Because [there are] no drivers, none of the celebs - of the 77 on the list."

Brundle did at least manage to find a few stars to chat with. He had a brief conversation with Jerry Bruckheimer - producer of the upcoming F1 film - before talking to Gladiator II star Paul Mescal.

Olympic 100m gold medalist Noah Lyles was also present, comparing the "starting blocks" of F1 to his own track and field universe. Rocky star Sylvester Stallone was also on the grid, and enjoyed a brief catch-up with Brundle.

Brundle also came across Franco Colapinto, who started the Grand Prix from the pit lane following a heavy crash on Saturday. "I'm OK," he said. "A bit sore but the boys did an amazing job to get the car back on track.

"Very grateful. They have done so much in the last couple of races and it's great to see the car back on track. We will start from the pit lane, so a long race ahead and a lot of opportunities. Hopefully, it's a good one."
