Prince Harry’s publisher is reportedly “putting a ton of pressure on him” to write a follow-up to his controversial 2023 memoir, Spare, which is said to have netted profits of £16million. However, a source has warned that revealing “more salacious details on the royals” for a new book would leave the Duke of Sussex with no chance of reconciliation with his family.

They claimed to Heat Magazine: “It’s got to be a tough spot for Harry to be in, because the publisher is putting a ton of pressure on him to deliver some more salacious details on the royals. It’s not exactly like his family have been very forgiving, so no doubt there’s some feeling on Harry’s part that he’s got nothing left to lose.

“But if he wants any chance of a relationship, he’d be a fool to cave. The royals still can’t believe some of the things Harry said in his book, and it will go down in history as one of the biggest betrayals of the monarchy in modern memory.

“For him to rub salt in the wounds again for his own personal gain would send him so far into the doghouse that there’d be no way back - it would ruin any chance of reconciliation.”

The source also claimed that Harry is struggling to come up with fresh content for his next book, despite starting a new life with wife Meghan Markle in the US, adding: “The harsh reality is that there’s very little to include at this point besides his experience of being ostracised by the royals.

“Sure, he and Meghan could describe their love story more, but it’s not as though they could really brag about how they’ve conquered Hollywood or won over the liberal US political elite.”

Spare caused a stir when it was published in January last year, due to Harry’s no holds-barred account of his grievances against the Royal Family.

Harry took aim at his older brother and heir to the throne Prince William in the memoir, with the pair barely on speaking terms these days, according to reports.

Royal expert Michael Cole recently told GB News that he did not see Harry and William repairing their relationship anytime soon, explaining: "I don't think there's any chance at all of a reconciliation with the brothers now or in the foreseeable future.

"It goes back to the Oprah Winfrey interview, then the book Spare and all the things that were said in the Netflix six-part series. Too much bad blood and William is not going to forgive."

Harry may be holding on to the possibility of keeping some ties to his family, due to his and wife Meghan’s dwindling circle of friends, according to reports.

During an appearance on Vanity Fair’s podcast DYNASTY: The Royal Family’s Most Challenging Year, Royal correspondent Katie Nicholl claimed that those close to the Sussexes have been forced to “choose” between maintaining relationships with them, or with Prince William.

Katie said: “I think there is a sense that, possibly, friends, close friends, society friends, celebrity friends have sort of had to make a little bit of a choice.

“I remember being told by someone at the Palace there was this sense that you had to put your stake in one camp or the other.”
