Bill Nighy's quiet life in posh suburb where average homes fetch £1.3m

Bill Nighy, 77, has been gracing the screen and stage for decades in various roles.

Some of his most notable include his role in Harold Pinter's play, Betrayal, Tom Stoppard's Arcadia and the 2022 film Living.

He has also appeared in the Pirates of the Caribbean film series, the Underworld film franchise and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1.

Nighy has appeared in several TV roles including State of Play, the BBC's Ordeal by Innocence and Salting the Battlefield.

The actor was born in Caterham, Surrey, grew up in Purley, Croydon and was known for being insecure and shy.

However, he was an avid reader and enjoyed work by the authors Ernest Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Away from the screen, Nighy reportedly lives a quiet life in the affluent suburb of Pimlico in London.

According to an article in the Guardian in 2022, Nighy can often be seen in Pimlico wearing his signature navy Dunhill suit and Cutler and Gross glasses.

Pimlico is in the City of Westminster and is known for its garden squares and distinctive Regency architecture.

It's also incredibly pricey with homes having an overall average price of £1,316,096 over the last year, according to Rightmove.

The majority of sales in Pimlico during the last year were flats, selling for an average price of £1,163,339

He's also said to have spent time on the Suffolk coast where he rented an Airbnb during lockdown to be close to his family.

According to some reports, the actor has been spotted at events in the area and loves the dramatic cliffs.

Speaking to The Telegraph about his love of the county, he previously said: "I love the area with all my heart: Dunwich for dramatic cliffs; Aldeburgh for tea and world-class fish 'n' chips; and Walberswick for sandy beaches and crabbing."
