With sunnier days and warmer temperatures, Brits across the country have been spending more time outdoors. However, this often results in clothing stains, particularly noticeable on white garments.
These stubborn yellow marks, whether from sweat, deodorant or sunscreen, can be tricky to remove. Even after a hot wash, these stains may persist. Fortunately, cleaning gurus at Shark Clean have shared their top tips for tackling these stains this spring.
The experts advised: "Choose an oxygen-powered stain remover, or make a paste from baking soda and water.
"Brush your stain remover onto the yellow areas to target them."
Baking soda is a natural way to remove marks, and it can be bought for as little as 60p from supermarkets.
Bicarbonate of soda, or baking soda, removes stains by acting as an absorbent, neutraliser, and a mild abrasive.
Simply let the treatment sit for 20 minutes, or for more stubborn marks, leave the treatment overnight.
Then, launder the garment on your usual cycle in the washing machine, repeating the steps if necessary.
If you're plagued by sun cream marks, usually around the neck, the experts recommend using washing detergent and hot water.
The experts suggested: "Fill a sink or bowl with hot water and washing powder, following the manufacturer's instructions for quantities, or substitute washing powder for white vinegar."
Place the item in the mixture and leave it to soak for a bit before proceeding to the next step.
For stubborn marks, opt for an oxygen-powered stain remover, or concoct a paste from baking soda and water.
Apply the stain remover onto the yellow areas to target them, soaking them for at least 30 minutes before rinsing with clean water.
Next, wash on your usual cycle in the washing machine, repeating the treatment as necessary.
Ensure the clothing items are completely dry before assessing the results.
