Man Utd transfer news: Garnacho and Rashford decisions, Martinez belief, agreement reached | Football | Sport

Manchester United are continuing work on incomings and outgoings ahead of returning for pre-season training on July 7. Matheus Cunha has already landed in a £62.5million transfer from Wolves, representing an early statement in the summer window.

Now, a deal for Bryan Mbeumo is edging closer after United sent Brentford an improved bid for the 25-year-old forward worth over £60m. The Red Devils are simultaneously progressing potential player sales to boost Ruben Amorim's budget and facilitate further signings.

Express Sport rounds up the latest transfer news coming out of Old Trafford in the last 24 hours...

Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford decisions

According to The Athletic, Alejandro Garnacho wants to stay in the Premier League this summer and has earmarked London as his preferred destination.

Chelsea are interested but are currently prioritising a pursuit of Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens. Arsenal have also been linked.

The same report adds that Marcus Rashford, oppositely, views a move abroad as more appealing than staying in England. He has indicated that Barcelona is his dream switch.

United are said to want a sale rather than another loan, but there is a feeling that Rashford's future will not be resolved until later in the window.

Emi Martinez belief shared

The Athletic also claim that United have maintained contact with the representatives of Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez since the start of the year.

Martinez reportedly would prefer to join United or another European heavyweight rather than move to Saudi Arabia this summer.

However, the 33-year-old is said to believe that any transfer would depend on whether Andre Onana leaves Old Trafford.

Onana is reportedly planning to stay for a third season, and United are not thought to be pushing to sell the Cameroon international or spend a large sum on a replacement.

Jadon Sancho agrees contract

And finally, there could be light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to Jadon Sancho's ill-fated four-year career in M16.

According to Turkish outlet Sabah Spor, Sancho has reached an agreement with Fenerbahce over a contract worth around £8.5m per year.

Fenerbahce will now reportedly launch transfer negotiations with United for the £73m flop, and they are expected to seal a deal relatively quickly.

Jose Mourinho is arguably the most successful United manager since Sir Alex Ferguson's 2013 retirement.

And he could be doing his old employers a huge favour by spearheading an operation to extract Sancho from the fringes of Amorim's squad and the summit of the club's wage bill.
