William set for 'low key' birthday as expert reveals future plans | Royal | News

Prince William will likely celebrate his birthday with "low key" plans today, as the King’s former gardener reveals his plans. According to Jack Stooks, the 43-year-old will likely have a quiet dinner with family and friends to celebrate his special day today.

The royal, who was born on this day in 1982, will undoubtedly be made to feel special today - with his wife and children having already sent public wishes to the future monarch.

Taking to social media, Kensington Palace released a statement from the Princess of Wales, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis - as well as a special mention to the family's beloved furry friends.

A post, with a newly-released picture of William taken by his wife in Windsor earlier this month, read: "Happy birthday! Love C, G, C, L, Orla and the puppies! [dog-paw emoji]."

Speaking on behalf of Genting Casino, Mr Stooks said: "He’ll probably keep it really low key. I think he prefers spending the day with Kate and the kids now, just doing something as a family.

"It won’t be anything like his 21st, that was a big party at Windsor Castle where they all dressed up and partied all night. But he’s not really into that anymore. These days it’ll likely be dinner at home, maybe with a few close friends at Adelaide Cottage."

He also spoke of the future, explaining that he believes the next time the family will celebrate big on William's birthday will be for his 50th - which will take place in June 2032.

He said: "When William turns 50, I imagine there’ll be a bigger deal made, like a proper party, maybe hosted at Buckingham Palace, and the press will be told about it. But for now, it’ll probably just be a quiet acknowledgement from the King."

As well as his post via social media, he added that the King is likely to privately speak to his eldest son on his birthday today.

Discussing how the King will mark William's birthday, he added: "Maybe a phone call or a small gift. They’re not really into big birthday lunches or public displays unless it’s a milestone one."
