Garlic will peel easily with 1 'game changer' way people are just discovering

People are just discovering a "better" way to peel garlic after seeing a viral hack make the rounds on social media. Peeling and chopping garlic can be a bit of an annoying job for home cooks, and when we don't do it exactly right, we can actually lose a lot of garlic that we could otherwise use for cooking. This is quite frustrating for home cooks, considering that garlic is the basis for so many dishes such as pastas, curries, stir fries and even salads.

So, we want as much garlic from the clove as we can get. The last thing we want is to lose any of that great flavour. One Instagram user has shared their hack for cutting and peeling garlic, and they call it a "game changer". In a video posted by @brittandmitchworldwide, we see garlic being easily cut and peeled so that we get all of the cloves to use in our cooking. Many people opt for simply smashing the clove of garlic with a kitchen knife, but this may not be the best way to do it.

The viral clip sees a home cook taking a clove of garlic and cutting it in half down the wide end. After that, it pops open and the skin of the garlic clove simply falls off.

"I was today years old when I learnt how to peel garlic properly, they say as they show the hack. "This is an absolute game changer," they wrote in the caption of the post. "We couldn’t believe how quick and easy it was to cut and peel garlic, only took a few seconds per clove!"

This presents a handy and time-saving alternative to peeling garlic the usual way. When we crush it, the skin can get mixed up in the actual garlic pieces that we want, meaning we have to spend some time getting it all out.

People took to the comments section of the post, and many praised the hack. One person commented: "Way better than smashing it!"

Another simply wrote: "This works." However, other people weren't as convinced. One person said: "I just punch it on the table and remove the skin more easily."

Another commented: "Just smash and the skins come right off." A third wrote: "Nah, just smash it flat with the knife. No chopping or peeling needed."
