Horror classic giving fans 'nightmares' now free to stream | Films | Entertainment

A "hidden gem" beloved by horror aficionados is now available to stream at no cost.

The 1972 horror "classic" Tales From the Crypt, which entangles five strangers in a crypt, can now be seen on Pluto TV.

Pluto TV teases: "Five strangers get lost in a crypt and, after meeting the mysterious Crypt Keeper, receive visions of how they will die."

Featuring Joan Collins, Peter Cushing, Ralph Richardson, Geoffrey Bayldon, and Martin Boddey, the film is hailed as a "horror classic" by fans. And despite its age, it continues to garner rave reviews, reports Surrey Live.

On Google reviews, one fan praised: "The greatest of all anthology films. Gave me nightmares for a long while. Still as good over 50 years later with some memorable moments peppered throughout. Fantastic film."

Others have described it as "Classic and surprisingly thrilling" and a "rewarding" watch.

Boasting a 90% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the feedback is resoundingly positive. One reviewer called it a "Hidden gem. Cinematic and suspenseful."

Another said: "Great horror anthology. Kind of feels like a Hammer Film."

One person commented: "Enjoyable distraction film. The majority of the stories were good, a couple to slow or not really enough story. Peter Cushing as amazing as ever."

A fourth: "Classic. Ralph Richardson, Peter Cushing, Joan Collins, and many more stellar British actors of yore."

One admirer boldly claimed: "One of the best horror, no, scratch that, one of the best films ever made. Yeah, I said it. Come at me bro."

However not everyone agreed. A viewer critiqued: "With the exception of the final segment, a fairly boring anthology."

Another remarked: "Horror anthology which features a few interesting ideas but as a whole doesn't hold together."

On June 13, Pluto TV unleashed a treasure trove of terror with an array of horror films available for free streaming. This collection spans from cult classics like Halloween and Tales From The Crypt to lesser-known gems including Killer Crocodile, The Wraith, Horror Express, and Psycho Cop.

Tales From the Crypt can now be streamed for free now on Pluto TV
