Ukraine LIVE: Putin unleashes 'massive' drone strike in Odesa | World | News

Russia is close to seeing total losses in its war in Ukraine top one million, Kyiv claims.

The General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces reported on Monday that Russia has lost 998,080 troops in Ukraine since its full-scale invasion began in February 2022.

The figures are understood to include those killed, wounded, missing, or captured by Ukrainian forces.

The report claims Putin's forces have also lost

- 10,919 tanks

- 22,768 armored fighting vehicles

- 51,455 vehicles and fuel tanks

- 28,982 artillery systems

- 1,412 multiple launch rocket systems

- 1,183 air defense systems

- 416 airplanes

- 337 helicopters

- 40,057 drones

- 28 ships and boats

- one submarine

Russia disputes the scale of the losses, and both countries are tight-lipped about their official figures.

However, most analysts agree that Russia's losses have been in the hundreds of thousands.
