Hobs will be free of cloudy stains if wiped with 1 natural ingredient

Stains can build up over time and make a mess of your home, but you don’t need a commercial cleaner to do the job. Olive oil has a number of benefits that go beyond the realms of health.

It can actually be used as a natural cleaning remedy, too. If you prefer using a natural solution, one cleaning fan touts a kitchen staple to answer your praises. TikToker user Georgia, better known as Clean with Georgia, hailed humble olive oil as a great remedy for getting rid of “cloudy stains”.

How to clean metal hobs

Georgia suggested that olive oil can help clean cloudy stains from metal stove tops. Simply apply some olive oil to some kitchen towel and work it into the hob.

This works especially well on metal surfaces, including stove tops.

Georgia said: “You just want to take some olive oil and scrunched up paper towels. Stuff that into your stove top and it will help remove those cloudy stains.

“I have no clue what they are, but I’ve been trying for ages to work out how to remove them.”

While removing smudges, olive oil can also act as a gentle polish to help give metal appliances a nice shine. However, when applying the liquid, you should be careful not to use overly abrasive cloths.

Olive oil is an effective natural remedy for removing dirt as it acts as a lubricant which will loosen grime, making it easier to remove. It can effectively break down adhesive residue from labels or stickers, making them easier to remove.

Olive Oils From Spain also suggested that it can also be useful when trying to remove rust. Simply add some lemon juice to the olive oil and rub all metal products that need it and let it sit for about 10 minutes.

Once time is up, remove the excess with a damp absorbent cloth.

Lina DaSilva, cleaning expert and owner of Toronto Shine Cleaning, told Homes & Gardens: “Olive oil is great for removing smudges and fingerprints from stainless steel appliances without the need for harsh chemicals.

“Simply apply a small amount of olive oil to a soft cloth and rub it over the stainless steel surface, following the grain. Avoid using too much oil to prevent a greasy residue.”
