Meghan Markle accused of 'rewriting' history after 'vulnerable' admission | Royal | News![]() Meghan Markle could be trying to rewrite her memories of pregnancy through her latest parenting revelations, a psychologist has said. Through her podcast Confessions of a Female Founder, The Duchess of Sussex, 43, has shared some insights into her pregnancies with her two children Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, three, as well as some of her motherhood struggles. As well as recalling some humorous moments, Meghan has shared how she has been almost consumed by motherhood in recent years. In one podcast, the mum-of-two said: “People forget that Lili is three, and Archie is five. So you look at the past five, six years of my life, it’s yes, with being pregnant or with a newborn or with a toddler, and then another one.” The Duchess’ tone almost echoed an interview she did in 2019 after a royal tour in South Africa, in which she was asked how she had been after welcoming Prince Archie into the world and returning to royal duties. She said at the time: “Any woman, especially when you’re pregnant, you’re really vulnerable, so that was made really challenging. So then when you have a newborn… especially as a woman, it’s a lot.” Psychologist Stefan Walters has now said that Meghan’s podcast this year has given her a much-needed platform to be able to work through some of the traumatic episodes she experienced during her pregnancy and the early years. Stefan told The Mirror: “There’s an element of getting a second chance here. Pregnancy was a difficult, painful time for them, and at times she seemed to be struggling. It wasn’t necessarily associated with a lot of happy memories.” He continued: “So, now she’s perhaps feeling that she’s able to create and relive some happy memories around pregnancy and the early years of her children’s lives.” Meghan also admitted in one podcast episode that motherhood had not been what she had envisioned. She said: “I was like 'Oh gosh, I'm going to give a speech with a baby on my hip'. I had a whole vision - and then you fast forward... granted I had a lot of external things happening by the time I had both pregnancies and both babies. But it was not the way I envisioned it." While things may not have been as smoothsailing as she hoped, Meghan has spoken time and time again about her love for her children, referring to her role as Archie and Lilibet’s mum as the “greatest privilege”.
