The hob is where a lot of the stains seem to gather. As well as crumbs and grease being dropped, mysterious cloudy stains can also pop up, which aren't always the easiest to remove. If you've been struggling with this problem, the solution could be hiding in your kitchen cupboard.

The helpful cleaning hack was shared on TikTok by Clean With Georgia, a home influencer with more than 152,000 followers. She often posts easy cleaning and organisational tutorials focused on fixing problems that many of us face when trying to clean.

In a recent video, she shared not one but 10 tips and tricks that are said to 'speed up' your cleaning game.

And she says if you've been trying and failing to banish stains from your home, it could be worth ditching the pricey cleaning sprays for a simple drizzle of olive oil.

All you need to do is scrunch up a couple of sheets of kitchen towel and pour a tiny bit of olive oil onto it. Then, buff it into the stove top in circular motions.

Georgia says that this will help to remove those annoying cloudy stains, leaving your hob shining and mark-free once again.

This is especially effective if you've got a stainless steel hob, and it can also help to prevent fingerprints and dust appearing on the surface.

Unlike some types of chemical cleaner, olive oil is non-abraisive, meaning it won't damage the surface of your hob. Similarly, white vinegar can also be used to clean stains off in a safe way.

You should always wait until your hob has fully cooled down before cleaning it so that you don't get any nasty burns, and put back all the burner caps in their correct position when you're done.
