A mum's garden became overgrown when she was spending time in hospital. And to her horror, she was quoted a whopping sum to fix the problem.

Even though Michelle only needed her yard in Manchester to be tidied up, workers requested £2,000 to get the job done.

Thankfully though, she didn't actually have to fork out such a hefty fee. That's because a kind-hearted gardener decided to take action.

Horrified by the situation, green-fingered Mike planned a sweet surprise. He told the mother he'd be doing the work for free.

The only thing he asked for in return was to film the whole transformation for his popular Garden Yardz Mowing TikTok page, which has 28,000 followers on the platform.

Mike's followers tune in to watch his garden transformations. This one was no exception – as more than 10,100 people have viewed the sweet clip in just 24 hours.

In the footage, Mike uses a trimmer to cut back the overgrown grass. He then gets to work with a mower to make the lawn look lovely and even.

The finished results looked fabulous – and Michelle was very grateful for the kind gesture.

She told gardener Mike: "I love it, it's brilliant. Thank you so much. I have had so many quotes of people with insane prices – £1,000 or £2,000. I'll keep on top of that now and enjoy it... I appreciate it!"
