Give your old broken phone to Samsung to get something better for much less![]() Samsung is gearing up to release its long-awaited Galaxy S25 Edge, the latest model in the firm’s flagship phone series that stands out from the back thanks to its slimmed down dimensions, coming in at just 5.8mm thick. If you want to pre-order the phone but can’t quite manage the lofty £1,099 asking price, there’s actually a very easy way to instantly slash £200 off. Samsung is currently offering £200 off the phone simply by trading in any Android phone in any condition. That’s right, even if you have a long-broken Android sitting in a drawer, send it in to Samsung and you can pre-order the Galaxy S25 Edge for £899. You can combine this with the offer Samsung is already running, when you can pre-order the £1,199 512GB storage version for the price of the £1,099 256GB version. So, trading in any Android phone today will get you the 512GB S25 Edge for £899, £300 less than its £1,199 RRP. This offer is running until May 29, the day before the Edge goes on full sale in the UK. You must send in the phone after paying for your new one. If you don’t, Samsung can remotely block the Edge from working. So do it! I’ve had some hands-on time with the phone and it is remarkably thin and light, weighing just 163g, which is featherweight for a phone like this with its large 6.7-inch AMOLED screen. View the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge on Samsung's UK store That screen is protected by Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, the latest version of the scratch and drop resistant glass, plus the phone's thin frame is made from titanium, just like the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, and unlike the aluminium on the S25 and S25 Plus. In fact, the Edge also has the same 200MP main camera as the S25 Ultra, which is a better lens than what you’ll find on the S25 and S25 Plus. You also get an ultra-wide lens on the Edge, but there’s no telephoto lens. Something’s got to give when you have a phone this thin, apparently. Samsung is promising “all day” battery life from the Edge, but it has a small 3,900mAh cell due to its thinness. We haven’t fully tested it yet, but this is significantly less than the 4,900mAh in the S25 Plus, which has the same size 6.7-inch AMOLED screen. The Edge also impressively has 12GB RAM to keep things flying along with the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, so performance should be outstanding. You get IP68 dust and water resistance, stereo speakers, under display fingerprint sensor, and 25W wired charging. This slim device even gets 15W wireless charging, as well as reverse wireless charging so you can top up wirelessly-chargeable earbuds on the back, too. Available in blue, silver or black, the S25 Edge is set to be one of the most impressively designed phones of the year. If you’ve been wanting a phone with a large screen that isn’t a paperweight in your pocket, it could be the one for you. Source link Posted: 2025-05-22 07:50:38 |
