Experts have revealed the items that might be sitting around your house that could fetch you upwards of £650. Attics and closet spaces are full of old trinkets in many British households, especially where children have grown up and since flocked the nest. There are many items that, while popular during our childhoods, have become vintage with collectors working hard to get their hands on them. 

Ellie Macsymons from NetVoucherCodes, who also goes by 'Car Boot Queen', put together a list of the top nine items you can find at car boot sales that could sell for hundreds of pounds, and they might be gathering dust in your attic. "Often sellers don’t know what kind of treasure they have right under their nose, and often sell luxury items for a fraction of their price," she revealed. "If you know what you’re looking for, you could resell some of these items for hundreds of pounds, giving you an extra boost coming into summer."

Among these items is vintage pyrex dishes, old gaming consoles and old furniture, all of which combined could get you £650 or more. 

Vintage pyrex dishes with certain patterns, including 'gooseberry', 'butterprint', or 'snowflake' are a hot commodity at the moment and can "fetch impressive prices among collectors and retro homeware fans", Macsymons explained. These dishes can be bought for anywhere between £30 and £150, a handsome sum for something you may not have realised had any value at all.

When it comes to old gaming consoles such as Game Boys to Sega Mega Drives, collectors are eager to nab these as they are becoming more and more rare. The expert expalined: "Enthusiasts and nostalgic millennials are snapping up working consoles and original games."

Little titles go for between £20 and £30 while vintage consoles can be sold for more than £200. It is worth checking if you have one of these knocking about your attic if your children have flown the nest and no longer want or use them.

Macsymons also lists mid-century furniture and decor as a hot commodity that can fetch hundreds. She reveals items like teak side tables, magazine racks, or atomic-era mirrors can sell to the right buyer for between £40 to £300 and beyond, depending on the piece. 

Additionally, Macsymons says that vintage LEGO sets can sell for a pretty penny as can branded vintage clothing, rare or first edition books, vintage cameras, old designer handbags and accessories. You should also check to see if you have any classic British ceramics such as teapots, dinner sets, or figurines, especially limited editions or discontinued ranges which could sell for as much as £200. 

She said: "If you're new to flipping items, start small by buying things you can test easily and know a bit about. As you gain experience, you'll start spotting those lucrative gems more quickly. And remember: always check sold listings on eBay to get a realistic idea of an item’s value, not just the asking price."
