Jockey clings on to two horses at once after being unseated in bizarre scenes | Racing | Sport![]() Jockey Kevin Nabet avoided a heavy fall during the first race at Auteuil by clinging onto his own mount and a rival horse. The Frenchman then skidded along the track in a skiing-eque position whilst clinging on to both horses on Saturday morning. Nabet was riding 5/4 favourite Lord Brett during the miles-and-six-furlongs race, but a poor jump on the back straight saw the jockey catapulted into the air. With his instincts kicking in mid-descent, Nabet desperately reached out and grabbed the reins of his ride and rival runner L'Amazone, being ridden by Clement Lefebvre, whilst both horses continued to race around the turn. Whilst he desperately clung on to both sets of reins, Nabet managed to stay upright and slide down the track for at least 20 yards. Jockey Lefebvre then realised that the unseated rider was hampering his mount's chances - a 5/2 shot - and gave Nabet a gentle push which prompted him to elegantly fall to the ground. Commentator Darren Owen was astonished by the incident, exclaiming: "Look at Lord Brett's jockey there, hanging on for dear life." The race then continued, with the jockey-less Lord Brett remaining with the rest of the field. Levoilatiep (11/1) went on to land the spoils, with L'Amazone finishing fourth out of the five finishers after being embroiled in the moment of madness from Nabet.
