A classic French hatchback is one of the rarest cars in the country with just two models thought to be left in the UK. The award goes to the plucky Renault 6 TL first produced by the French marque over 50 years ago. Released back in 1974, the upmarket Renault 6 TL was a follow-up to the successful 6 which first hit the road in the late 1960s. 

The Renault 6 was one-of-a-kind and is still considered to be one of the most iconic models from the 1970s. The 6 was perfect for a motorist looking for something cool, trendy, and fun to drive while sticking to a limited budget.

The vehicle was modelled off the Renault 4 but was slightly trendier than its earlier sister making it appeal even more to petrolheads.

The 6 was also fitted with a whole host of extra features including heated rear windows and reclining sears. Winding windows, childproof locks and even ashtrays came fitted for the benefit of rear passengers. 

The model was fitted with a  1.1 litre, 845 cc with front disc brakes also installed underneath as standard. The Renault 6 has also been praised for its ample boot space within a large hatch making loading luggage no hassle at all.
