The “most stressful airport” in Europe once lost 34,000 pieces of luggage in a year. Online language platform Preply analysed 25 of Europe’s biggest airports to determine which offers the worst passenger experience.

The study has looked at factors such as Google review scores, the number of “stressful” reviews, lost luggage queries, punctuality, and the number of passengers passing through each airport. Heathrow Airport was named the most stressful in Europe, getting a stress score of 6.4 out of ten despite its Google review score of four out of five. About 65.74 percent of flights leave on time and there were 34,700 searches for lost luggage involving the airport in one year alone.

In second place was Manchester Airport, with a stress score of 5.44 out of ten. It got an average Google review score of three out of five.

There were only 9,180 searches for lost luggage here, and 66.11 percent of flights left on time. On Google, there were 138 reviews that specifically mentioned it was a stressful experience.

Manchester’s T3 terminal has previously been ranked as the worst airport terminal in the UK. It received a painful customer satisfaction score of just 38 percent.
