Tennis LIVE: Umpire makes Italian Open star cry as player steals from Carlos Alcaraz | Tennis | Sport

Mirra Andreeva was unable to contain her frustration during her Italian Open win over Clara Tauson on Monday.

The Russian star burst into tears after the umpire forced her to replay a point following a heated row in Rome.

The edgy affair erupted into controversy when Andreeva won a point in the opening game of the third set.

Tauson was left unhappy with the point though and called for a video review because of the fact the lights on the court came on mid-point.

The umpire then reviewed the footage and ruled that the Danish star was correct and that it was a ‘hindrance’, meaning that the point would be replayed.
