Remove limescale from shower glass with 'amazing' ingredient

Mineral deposits can accumulate over time on the shower glass panel, leaving your bathroom looking dirty. While commercial cleaners promise quick fixes, many contain harsh chemicals that can damage surfaces and harm the environment.

Fortunately, a simple and natural solution can restore your shower's sparkle without the need for expensive products. Experts recommend a straightforward approach to tackle common bathroom issues, such as limescale and water stains – and you most likely already have it at home.

According to Chris Wootton, Managing Director of Poppies Cleaning Service, an effective method involves using an acidic solution to combat the alkaline nature of limescale.

He said: "The best way to tackle limescale is with warm water and white vinegar solution, and you may need to use the rougher side of a non-scratch scouring pad and some elbow grease."

This combination works wonders on both shower glass and tiles, breaking down mineral deposits and soap scum.

For routine maintenance, Wootton suggests storing a spray bottle with an equal mix of "amazing" white vinegar and water in your shower. After each use, a quick spray and wipe can keep surfaces gleaming with minimal effort.

For those seeking an even more potent solution, a mixture of white vinegar and dish detergent can be particularly effective.

Simply combine three-quarters white vinegar with a quarter dish soap in a spray bottle, apply to the glass, and let it sit for up to 30 minutes.

This allows time for soap scum and tough water stains to loosen. Afterward, sponge off the mixture and rinse with clean water. Buff the surface with a microfiber cloth for a streak-free finish.

Incorporating this natural cleaning routine into your weekly schedule can significantly reduce the buildup of limescale and soap scum.

Regular maintenance not only keeps your shower looking pristine but also prolongs the life of your fixtures.

By choosing eco-friendly solutions like white vinegar, you can achieve a sparkling clean bathroom without resorting to harsh chemicals.

So, next time you're faced with cloudy shower glass, reach for that bottle of white vinegar to restore its sparkly sheen.
