Princess Anne wears a £4,000 brooch that poses a sweet nod to King Charles and Kate, the Princess of Wales.

The royal paid a visit to Merseyside to mark the 30th anniversary of a carers centre earlier this week.

Anne first opened Sefton Carers Centre in Waterloo in 1994, and made a return to join the milestone celebrations.

To mark the occasion, Anne was spotted wearing a special brooch "in the shape of a Scout reef knot".

Zack Stone from Steven Stone has spoken out on Anne's symbolic brooch - and how it bares a sweet nod to her brother and her nephew's wife.

He said: "Princess Anne’s brooch is in the shape of a Scout reef knot, with the rope symbolising the family of the World Scout Movement and the knot symbolising the strength of the unity of the World Scout Movement.

"The brooch is the perfect fit for the Princess Royal, who is known for her strong character – particularly at this moment in time, when the family are in turmoil due to both King Charles and Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis’s."

Discussing when Anne was first given the brooch, he added: "Commissioned for both her 40th birthday and her visit to Helensburgh yacht club for the opening of their new clubhouse back in 1990.

"The brooch features Scottish freshwater pearls - representing the Scottish connection - and rubies to mark her milestone birthday."

Speaking of the price of the brooch, he added: "I’d estimate the brooch to be worth approximately £4,000 [$5,000]."

Anne - who is the late Queen's only daughter - is often deemed the hardest-working member of the Royal Family, with her popularity having soared in recent years.

Prior to Prince Harry's return to the UK next month, Anne will travel to Canada for an official visit between May 3 and 5.

Full details for the tour are yet to be revealed, with them likely to be revealed in due course.

GB News recently reported that Anne visited Canada last year when she travelled to the nation twice in the space of one month.

Anne has already taken two major trips out of the UK this year. The royal travelled to Sri Lanka in January and Dubai in March.

The 73-year-old - living up to her reputation - is understood to have completed between 12 and 14 royal engagements a week last year.
