FIA president Mohamed Ben Sulayem is prepared to revise the rules on swearing in a potential boost for Max Verstappen.

The Dutchman has been a vocal critic of the governing body's efforts to restrict the language used by drivers in the heat of the moment.

He was hit with a community service order after swearing in a press conference at last year's Singapore Grand Prix.

Ben Sulayem has now revealed that he will consider making 'improvements' to the controversial rules.

He explained: "As a former rally driver, I understand the demands they face better than most.

"Appendix B is a key part of the International Sporting Code and is central in helping keep the sport accessible for all our sporting family.

"Humans make the rules and humans can improve the rules.

"This principle of continuous improvement is something I have always believed in and is at the heart of all we do at the FIA."
