I tried Smirnoff's new Miami Peach - it brings summer vibes

You know it’s nearly summer when everyone heads to the local park armed with picnic blankets and tinned cocktails. Nothing quite says British summer quite like it.

Canned cocktails are a little stroke of genius and are incredibly handy when you have limited bag space and hands. To usher in the warmer seasons, Smirnoff has released a new flavour spirit full of summery peaches. Oh, and it’s released a ready-to-drink cocktail perfect for a weekend under the sun.

Aptly named Miami Peach, the drink attempts to transport you from the small isle of Britain to the beaches of Florida. The packaging reminds me of those girls holidays where inhibitions are let loose and exude pure joy.

Jessica Lace, Head of Smirnoff GB, said: "Smirnoff Miami Peach is our biggest flavoured spirit launch in the last three years! It’s smooth, delicious, and super easy to mix – making it the perfect way to bring those sunny, Miami vibes to the UK and is ideal for everything from rooftop sundowners to festival pre-drinks with friends."

The Smirnoff Miami Peach Ready-to-Drink tinny pairs the new vodka with classic lemonade. Simple and to the point.

It’s an easy and smooth drink to enjoy, especially if you’re a fan of fruity drinks. I totally understand the message: it’s here to bring the beach vibes.

I really enjoy its level of sweetness and it’s balanced really well. I’d happily drink this on the tube this summer…

The vodka itself, an orange in colour, reminds me of those alco-pops you’d find behind the bars of student nightclubs. Once paired with lemonade it turns a pale pink, like one of those alchemic cocktails at a fancy London bar.

Personally, I find the peach flavour slightly too sweet for my palate. Pairing it with lemonade reminds me of too many nights spent at university forking out mere pounds for overly sweet drinks that mask the taste of booze.

Nevertheless it’s enjoyable and definitely a good choice to pair for a cocktail. It’s perfect for anyone who likes a sweet tipple, anyone who’s a fan of a pink gin and lemonade.

If you’re not a fan of a potent vodka mixer or cocktail, this is a good alternative. It’s light and summery, and is a good base to include in a refreshing cocktail to enjoy in the sun.

If you’re a fan of vodka with a fruity twist, here are some recipes for you to try out.
