Apple cider vinegar has gained popularity over the years and it's said to be a great deterrent when it comes to keeping flying critters away from your garden by using it in a trap.

PHS Greenleaf advises: “To make a trap, pour some apple cider vinegar into a dish or jar with a few drops of washing-up liquid. 

“The pests are attracted to the sticky sweet vinegar but as the soap reduces the surface tension of the liquid, once the flies land, they can’t escape.”

Apple cider vinegar also works as a natural weed killer and bug repellent with experts advising to mix one part white or apple cider vinegar with three parts water in a spray container with a teaspoon of dish soap included. 

Mix this content thoroughly and then spray on your plants for a simple and natural method with experts further advising to also spray around the outside of your garden bed, which aids in keeping bugs out for good.

Apple cider vinegar helps to kill weeds thanks to its acetic acid properties which breaks down the cell walls of weeds which eventually causes them to die.
