Royal Family LIVE: Prince Harry accused of 'killing the spirit' after Meghan wedding | Royal | News

Prince Harry has been accused of losing interest in his African charity after his wedding to Meghan Markle.

Principal Chief Khoabane Theko, a leading member of the Lesotho royal family, says that the Duke of Sussex's lack of interest "killed the spirit" of the charity Sentebale.

He went on to say that he was "perturbed" when Prince Harry would go to Africa on holiday with Meghan Markle but not visit Lesotho. Harry also didn't visit from his wedding in 2018 to 2024. This came after almost yearly visits from 2010 to 2015.

He said: “When [Sentebale] was launched, I remember his words quite vividly, because he was very strong in saying ‘my mother, this place, her passion about Africa’ and all that.

“He’s a loved figure because of his openness, but his loss of interest has totally killed the spirit of the Sentebale’s survival. I haven’t seen him [Prince Harry] since he got himself married.”

The pair founded Sentebale in 2006 in Lesotho but both stepped down last month after accusations of harassment, bullying and “misogynoir” – a form of misogyny against black women.
