Lidl enforces strict two-per-person limit for new viral £4 item | UK | News

Lidl is due to implement a new strict rule on a long-awaited product which will be making appearance on its store shelves this Saturday. Customers will be limited to two of bars of the viral Dubai-style chocolate which sold out on Lidl's TikTok shop earlier this month with shoppers purchasing a staggering 72 bars every minute. Now the bargain supermarket has put measures in place so that no one can purchase more than two of the £4 chocolate bars.

The aim of the restriction is that all clients will be able to get their hands on and enjoy the popular item. The budget supermarket chain announced the product launch on their Instagram account, with a caption that reads: "We heard you had a craving. Our Dubai-style Chocolate is available in store this Saturday 29th March for only £3.99 with Lidl Plus. *Maximum 2 bars per customer."

The post gained over 3,000 likes and 156 comments, full of excited shoppers waiting to get their hands on the chocolate bars and hoping to see it in their local stores.

One person asked: "Will they be at store 1540?" to which Lidl's Instagram page responded: "Hi! These will be [in] store right across GB as of Saturday."

Another person commented: "Tried and tasted. Its great." Whilst another added: "Decent bars these. Reasonable price too."

Over on TikTok, a number of users questioned where they will be able to find the awaited good. According to Lidl, the Dubai Style Chocolate will be in the Limited Offers section.

Lidl Plus customers will be able to purchase the viral chocolate at a lower exclusive price of £3.99, whereas non-members will pay the supermarket's normal price of £4.99.

The popular Dubai style chocolate can also be found in other major supermarkets including Waitrose, which has also set a two bar per person limit on its stock of Lindt Dubai Style Milk Chocolate bars going for £10.

A spokesman for Waitrose told The Grocer: "Due to the incredible popularity of this product, we want to make sure that as many customers as possible have the opportunity to try it."
