I can't recommend the discounted Fitbit Charge 6 enough

Fitbit is a well-known brand in the fitness space, one of the first to offer bands that track steps and other metrics to help you keep an eye on what your body is doing. The Fitbit Charge 6 is really popular – I have one myself – and there’s a solid discount on this model if you’re looking to boost your fitness gains.

Normally selling for £139.99, shoppers can pick one up for £118.99 from Amazon right now. You don’t have to buy it from Amazon, as it’s the same price at Very as well. The Fitbit Charge 6 is a compact wearable, with a small screen on the front and a couple of touch controls on the side. The back of it has an optical heart rate sensor, while it’s loaded with sensors to help track what your body is doing.

It comes with a silicon strap, but these are easy to switch around if you want something different and to suit your style. The best thing about the Fitbit Charge 6 is how compact and light it is and that makes it great for sleep tracking. This is where I really value this device, because it’s small enough to keep on your wrist overnight, and the data that it gives you from sleeping is really useful.

Many people will be interested in the activity tracking that it offers. While daily steps and activities can be tracked (including automatic recognition of an activity), you can also track things like running or riding, starting and stopping the Fitbit manually.

It’s not as advanced as a fitness watch like a Garmin, so you can’t see as much on the screen, but it will track your heart rate, pace, speed and distance. It will capture GPS data, but can also use your phone’s sensors to gather that data too.

The Fitbit app is where you’ll examine everything, so you can see the quality of your sleep, how well rested you are, how you performed on your latest run and of course how many steps you took. This Fitbit Charge 6 comes with 6-months of Fitbit Premium, which gives deeper insight into your stats, so you can learn more about how your body responds to the exercise or the rest that you get.

You can also use it to make payments, the battery lasts for about a week and when you’re not doing anything else it will tell you the time and let you set alarms. But the small size of the Fitbit Charge 6 means you can't do that much on the screen and you only have limited data when actually using the device.

If that sounds like it's more than you need, then the Fitbit Inspire 3 is also discounted to £59.99 right now on Amazon – it has a smaller display and fewer options, lacking the GPS tracking, but otherwise being a great step tracker.
