Peter Crouch leaves ITV Cheltenham presenter speechless with risque Abbey Clancy comment | Racing | Sport

Peter Crouch left ITV Cheltenham Festival presenter Oli Bell speechless after making a risque comment about Abbey Clancy on Thursday. The former Liverpool forward joined Bell for a chat on the third day of the festival.

Crouch was asked if he’d ever ridden a horse. And he exclaimed. “Yeah, I’ve been on a few horses. Abbey likes to ride.” After a brief pause he then added the word: “Horses.” And the duo burst into laughter as the innuendo lingered.

Crouch continued: “I’ve been thrown off a couple of times." And Bell assured viewers: “Okay, we’ll leave it at that.”

Crouch and Clancy began dating in 2006, with the couple tying the knot in 2011. The wedding took place at Stapleford Park in Leicestershire in front of around 120 friends and family.

And discussing their relationship in an interview with The Mirror at the weekend, the former model explained: “When we look back at our wedding day, some of the choices we've made, some things we've done in the past, we're like ‘B***** h***, who were we then?’

“But today? We're still in sync, we've got the same interests and the same things that make us laugh. It's really a happy time for us at the moment. We honestly do everything together, except work - actually even work, because we have our podcast.”

Crouch enjoyed a 20-year career in professional football after progressing through the academy at QPR. After struggling to establish himself during the early part of his career, he secured a move to Liverpool in 2005 following a fruitful campaign with Southampton.

He won the FA Cup during a three-year spell at Anfield before moving back to the south coast to join Portsmouth. After a season at Fratton Park, he moved to Tottenham for two years before embarking on an eight-year stint at Stoke.

The 44-year-old ended his career with 106 goals in 468 Premier League appearances. He also bagged 22 goals in 42 games for England.

“I am [a regular at Cheltenham]," Crouch admitted as he chatted to Bell. "I’ll be honest it’s kind of like a football thing. I’ve played under Harry Redknapp countless times. Obviously he introduced me to it and I’ve been coming back ever since.

“There were a couple of incidents where I remember Harry saying to Jonathan Woodgate we couldn’t come. And then he found out Jonathan had organised a helicopter. So, very quickly, that changed and Harry was sitting in the front.

“We had some great days. I always remember coming here and it always being a really great day. And I’ve always tried to come back since I retired.”
