Keanu Reeves speaks out on John Wick 5 and dealing with hitman’s death | Films | Entertainment

It’s been two years since John Wick: Chapter 4 arrived in cinemas, and fans were left with quite an ambiguous ending.

We saw the hitman dying from his bloody wounds before swiftly moving to a scene of Winston and the Bowery King at his grave.

Yet we never saw a body. So, is he dead? Well, he is for now, but the chances of him resurrecting seem more than likely.

Keanu Reeves will next return as Wick this summer in Ballerina, a spin-off movie about Ana de Armas’ assassin that takes place between John Wick Chapters 3 and 4.

And now the 60-year-old star has addressed John Wick 5 and getting around the hitman’s apparent death.

Speaking with Extra, Reeves said: “Oh my gosh, well there's a version of it called Ballerina, which is in the John Wick world, and John Wick makes a brief appearance. So, other than that, I have no idea.”

Asked if he’d like to make John Wick 5, the actor replied: “You know, the character's dead. He died in John Wick: Chapter 4… I know, in Hollywood you can... I know, I know, it's the Hollywood story. Right now, there isn’t.”

But that isn’t the end of the story…

John Wick 5 has been in early development since Chapter 4’s box office success. Our best bet is that Lionsgate will say Wick faked his death before returning in a fifth film and teaming up with Arma’s Ballerina. After all, where there’s money to be made in Hollywood, even the death of a character cannot get in the way.
