Next James Bond odds slashed on new favourite being unveiled as 007 at Oscars | Films | Entertainment

Following news that Amazon MGM Studios now has the creative control of the James Bond film franchise, the outgoing producers will be honoured at the Oscars tomorrow evening.

EON Productions’ Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson, who received Honorary Oscars at the Governors Awards, will get a special Bond themes tribute during the Academy Awards on Sunday in Hollywood.

Now speculation is mounting that Amazon MGM will announce Daniel Craig’s replacement during this segment, with odds of a surprise next Bond reveal now at just 7-1.

Cal Gildart of Ladbrokes said: “The musical tribute has been added to the Oscars to honour the series’ longtime producers.

“But with Amazon wanting to make a big splash after taking creative control of Bond, what better way to announce the next 007 than during Hollywood’s biggest night?!”

If that wasn’t enough, next Bond odds favourite Henry Cavill, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and James Norton have been leapfrogged by another star. The Gentleman’s Theo James has had his chances of taking up the Licence to Kill next slashed to 5-2. Meanwhile, just behind him are: James Norton 3-1, Aaron Taylor-Johnson 7-2, Harris Dickinson 4-1 and Henry Cavill 4-1.

The Oscars will be broadcast on ITV1 from 10:30pm on Sunday evening.
