Lewis Hamilton breaks silence on Angela Cullen's return as Ferrari star buzzing | F1 | Sport

New Ferrari ace Lewis Hamilton has spoken out after being reunited with physiotherapist Angela Cullen.

Hamilton has been back in a Formula One paddock for the first time since jumping from Mercedes to Ferrari this week during the Bahrain testing sessions.

The Brit took the brave decision to change teams ahead of the 2025 season, despite turning 40 years old last month.

It's been a period of change for Hamilton, but the seven-time world champion has at least had one familiar face to help see him through his first couple of weeks at Ferrari - former physio Cullen.

The New Zealander had been a fixture in Hamilton's camp during his championship-winning days with Mercedes, but the pair amicably split at the end of the 2023 season.

Having since paired up once again, Hamilton spoke of his "excitement" to be working with Cullen and praised her for helping him settle into Ferrari life.

Speaking at a press conference in Bahrain, Hamilton explained: "It's always important to have a good foundation of people around you.

"I've generally had a very good base for many years. I still have all the team I had last year, but I have brought Angie on top of that.

"We have a great relationship me and Ange. We've known each other for a long time, we've gone through a lot together. She took a couple of years out, spent time with her family, discovering the world."

He continued: "Asking her to come and start this new chapter with me and her accepting it was really exciting and we've been having a blast.

"This past month together has been really awesome."

Hamilton will be hoping Cullen works as a good luck charm as he goes in search of a record-breaking eighth Drivers' Championship title.

However, that could require the strategic help of team-mate Charles Leclerc, with reports suggesting Ferrari haven't yet decided on who their main driver for the 2025 season will be.

Speaking after Hamilton's first day as a Ferrari man, Leclerc said: "It’s going to be incredible to have Lewis on the team.

"And, obviously, to be able to have such an incredible champion in the same team as me, with the same car. First, it’s going to be a great opportunity to learn from one of the best ever.

"And second, I think it is going to be an amazing opportunity, also, for me to be able to show what I’m capable of, so I’m really looking forward to it."

The Formula One season gets underway in Australia next month.
