A rescue dog named Cactus has captured the internet's love after cuddling up to his new owner in a touching show of affection and gratitude.

A viral TikTok video has melted hearts, showcasing the pair laying together on a bed, while Mike tried to figure out what Cactus wanted. Over the top of the clip, he penned: "Trying to figure out what my rescue puppy wants from me".

In the footage, he can be heard tenderly asking Cactus: "What do you want?" Their beautiful bond was evident, as Mike found himself overwhelmed with love while his sweet pet pawed at him, prompting him to enquire what he wanted.

In an adorable display, Cactus tumbled onto his back and nestled his head into Mike's, while lifting a front paw in wait of a coveted belly scratch. As they shared this tender moment, Mike affectionately said: "That's what you wanted? Yes buddy, I know."

In the caption accompanying the charming video on social media, Mike penned: "Sometimes Cactus comes up to me and gives me a look and I instantly know he wants something. I couldn't figure out what it was this time until he fell back into cuddle position."
