King Charles' fresh blow to Harry's Royal reunion hopes after 'telling' remark | Royal | News![]() Prince Harry's chances of rekindling a relationship with the Royal Family seem to have been dealt a fresh blow after a "telling" move from King Charles recently. It was just last Wednesday (February 19) that the King was speaking to the former Army captain and para-sports athlete, David Henson, at Imperial College London's Centre for Injury Studies. But, while the veteran was talking to him about previously competing in the Invictus Games, the King simply replied: "Fantastic," seemingly refusing to be drawn on any conversation about his youngest son, who started the Invictus Games back in 2014. Sharing their thoughts on The Royals with Roya and Kate podcast, royal editors Roya Nikkhah and Kate Mansey addressed the King's decision not to be drawn into talking about his son. Delving into the King's apparent decision to not make any reference to his youngest son, she said:"Now that could have been an oppurtunity for the King to say 'Oh yes, they're marvellous' or whatever that might be. "But, he just let that comment go and the conversation continued and the King didn't pick up on that at all." She added: "So, I thought that was really interesting, that that was an opportunity for the King to acknowledge the Invictus Games with somebody, who was front and centre of it when it first started, and has been a kind of pin-up for rehabilitation and getting up and getting on with his life and doing incredible things despite having life-threateneing, life-altering injuries." She went on to say that the King's response to the question, or in fact, lack if it, was worthy of note, adding: "That was quite telling, the King just sort of didn't aknowledge the (Invictus) games at all." Harry moved to the US with Meghan Markle back in 2020 and has remained their ever since. It has been over a year that Harry and his father last met, which was shortly after the King's shock cancer diagnosis was revealed. The 40-year-old flew in from the US but their meeting was relatively short lived, spending just 45 minutes together. Meanwhile, it was over five years ago, back in January 2020 that Harry made the shocking announcement that he and Meghan would be stepping back from their Royal duties. In the years since, Harry made a series of revelations about other members of the Royal Family in his 2023 memoir Spare, including anecdotes about his brother William and King Charles. Previously to that Harry, joined by Meghan gave a groundbreaking interview to Oprah Winfrey where they also spoke openly about their time in the Royal Family. And, after moving to the US, Harry has made very few trips back home to the UK, some of his most notable visits came in 2022 when he attended Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee before he returned later in the year after she had passed away.
