King Charles and Queen Camilla to team up with two lesser-known royals this week | Royal | News

King Charles and Queen Camilla will make another joint appearance this week as they are set to host a reception at Buckingham Palace on Thursday.

As well as the King, 76, and Queen, 77, being present for the special occasion, three other royals will also be in attendance, including the monarch’s sister Princess Anne.

She will be accompanied by the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, lesser-known but vital working members of the Royal Family.

At the reception, the royals will mark the anniversaries of four global charities, including International Health Partners, which was founded 20 years ago, and ShelterBox, which was first formed 25 years ago.

The charities Islamic Relief, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary, and Christian Aid, which will be marking its 80th anniversary this year, will also be celebrated at the event.

During the reception, the four royals - including the King and Queen - will view displays showing the work of these humanitarian organisations.

They will also hear stories from volunteers who work for them, as well as view a collection of images from the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), which were sent to The King for World Humanitarian Day in August last year.

The royals will also learn about each of the charities and the differences they have made across the globe.

The event is one of few attended by multiple members of the Royal Family, and is one of a handful of engagements carried out by the King and Queen Camilla together so far this year.

Just last week, Their Majesties visited Middlesbrough together where they completed four engagements between them, including two joint visits.

This included a visit to Middlesbrough’s International Centre where they met representatives of local community groups, voluntary services and police officers working to reduce knife crime in the town.

Their Majesties also spent time doing a brief walkabout to meet members of the town.
