Body found in Cornwall during search for missing woman | UK | News

Police in Cornwall have discovered a body near a sewage outlet in the search for a missing woman.

Colette Marshall vanished from Perranporth, Cornwall, on February 1, prompting Devon and Cornwall Police to release images of the 44-year-old.

There were also reports locally that a lifeboat was called to support the recovery operation.

Police were spotted near the Cornish village before confirming the news.

Ambulance teams, coastguards, and the RNLI were also summoned to the scene "just off the sewage outlet at Drozskyn", where it was confirmed a body had been discovered.

In a statement, the force said: "A body has been located in the search for 44-year-old Colette Marshall who had been reported missing from Perranporth.

"A body was discovered along the coastline in the Perranporth area Saturday 8 February."

"Formal identification has yet to take place.

"The family of Colette have been informed of the discovery. A file will be prepared for the coroner."

The force said on Saturday that there was "nothing to suggest anything untoward happened to the individual" found near the sewage site.
