GTA 6 parent company gives fans the news they've been waiting for | Gaming | Entertainment

Rockstar Games parent company Take-Two has held its latest earnings call for the most recent financial quarter.

As part of the Take-Two earnings call, the company provided an update on its future plans, including the status of GTA 6.

And the good news is that according to CEO Strauss Zelnick, Grand Theft Auto 6 is still on track for an autumn release.

Considering we're already in February and autumn is just months away, this is the news fans have been hoping for.

In an interview with IGN, Zelnick said that while there's always a chance the game could be delayed, the company is feeling good about the autumn launch.

"Look, there's always a risk of slippage and I think as soon as you say words like absolutely, you jinx things," Zelnick said. "So we feel really good about it."

Unfortunately, however, Zelnick didn't have much to say about the game itself, other than Rockstar is striving for perfection.

"Look, I think the game is eagerly anticipated both internally and externally," he continued.

"We know that Rockstar seeks perfection. I never claim success before it occurs. I'm fond of saying arrogance is the enemy of continued success, so we're all running scared and looking over our shoulders and we know that the competition is not asleep. Our whole organisation is super excited."

As you can see from Trailer 1, Grand Theft Auto 6 takes place in the state of Leonida, which is based on Florida.

Rockstar explains: "Grand Theft Auto VI heads to the state of Leonida, home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet."

The previously released trailer gives fans a look some of the map locations as seen from the skies above. This includes locations based on the Florida Keys, as well as the beach and more.

The trailer also hints at a potential game-changing new feature for Grand Theft Auto 6, which will up the scale to never-before-seen levels.
